The Power of Prayer
When I stood at Seaside Center for Spiritual Living on January 4, 2025 to share my talk, Divinely Guided, I did so with a voice that was still a little hoarse—and a heart full of awe. For the week leading up to New Year’s Eve, I had been struggling with laryngitis, unsure whether I would even be able to speak. And yet, throughout that time, I was being held in prayer by our Ministers and Practitioners, who knew how deeply I wanted to be present for our New Year’s Eve ceremony and to speak on Sunday. Their prayers were not hopeful wishes—they were grounded in knowing. They prayed from the truth that I already had a voice, that what was needed was already unfolding, and that right support was already present.
And it did unfold. Those prayers quietly guided me to Karen Koblentz, who brought me healing oils and a diffuser, and to naturopathic doctor Moira Fitzpatrick, who prescribed antibiotics and created tinctures that made it possible for me to speak, even if imperfectly, and without risk of contagion. I didn’t feel pushed or strained; I felt aligned. What unfolded was a living demonstration of the very message I shared that morning: that when we listen for Divine guidance and allow ourselves to be held in the prayerful consciousness of community, doors open in ways we could not have planned. If you’d like to experience the talk itself, you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UjnESc9xFE&t=3149s. My part begins at about minute 27.
I began the talk with a reading from Chapter Six of my book in progress, DIGITAL SOULS, a story that revealed something profound to me for the first time: how powerfully our minds shape our experience of reality..Thank you ministers and spiritual practitioners for your powerful prayers so that I could deliver that message on Sunday!
Divine guidance is always present, waiting for our willingness to listen.
